Finally bought myself a Wacom Bamboo tablet to do more photoshopping, can't wait to open it!
Opem 3 at The Collection, Lincoln
A local opportunity to exhibit in a contemporary show for emerging and established artists in the East Midlands. I went to this last year which was quite refreshing due to Lincoln's lack of opportunities for artists compared to other counties. Now I've graduated, I have no excuse and should probably enter. Plus it's only a £10 entry fee, so that's a bonus. This will definitely give me the incentive to actually make some work as I have struggled recently due to moving house and general chaos! Wish I had a studio space, anyone want to offer me one? I'd even take an unused garage!

Kathe Kollwitz, 'Mother with dead child'
I initially learnt about Kathe Kollwitz in my school years and have only just rediscovered her when going through old art work. This artist, combined with the encouragement from a former school teacher, began my eager interest in printmaking and the printed image. This particular print 'Mother with Dead Child' explores the human condition. Like most of her work, she retains a sensitive approach to this particular subject matter which is very commendable. The quality of line and tonal work in her etches range from the harsh dark shadows to the subtle grades seen in the subjects faces.
Definitely makes me want to print!

Jessica Dunegan
This came up on my newsfeed and I was quite intrigued by her technique to mix acrylic and resin, particularly on her photographic works. Definitely inspiring and something that I'd quite like to try.
